Mr.
Everett grew up in the Tampa area and attended Gaither High School. He was involved in numerous youth organizations and at
the age of 16 he earned the Billy Mitchell Award from the Civil Air Patrol, United States Air Force Auxiliary.
After
High School, Mr. Everett enlisted in the United States Air Force He was assigned to the 41st Electronic Combat
Squadron (41st ECS) at Davis-Monthan, Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. He was eventually promoted to the position
of Unit Engine Manager where he was responsible for the jet engines and propellers for all Air Force EC-130H aircraft worldwide.
He earned the United States Presidential Unit Citation for the actions of the 41st ECS during Operation Desert
Storm.
Mr. Everett was then assigned to the 51st Operation Support Squadron at Osan Air Base, Republic of
Korea. He worked in the Air Operations section of the 51st Fighter Wing protecting the Korean Demilitarized Zone.
Mr. Everett earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Remote Duty Assignment
Medal while stationed in South Korea.
After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Everett attended the University
of South Florida on the G.I. Bill. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology while also working at the Surgical Intensive
Care Unit at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital on the V.A. work-study program. He was also employed as a licensed
private investigator at a firm specializing in insurance fraud and surveillance.
Mr. Everett then attended the Washburn
University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Washburn University is one of the finest law school in the Midwest and is the
publisher of the American Bar Associations’ Family Law Quarterly Journal. It was at Washburn that Mr. Everett first
became interested in family law.
After graduation, Mr. Everett became the senior Case Manager at the law firm of Catherine
W. Real, P.A. in Tampa, Florida for over 3 years. The firm was dedicated to high conflict/high asset family law litigation
cases in the Tampa Bay area.
Mr. Everett was then employed as the Vice President of Compliance and In-House Counsel
for First Kensington Bank, an 11 branch, $350 million community bank based in Spring Hill, Florida. First Kensington Bank
was acquired by Superior Bank of Birmingham, Alabama in 2006.
Since then Mr. Everett has opened the Everett Law Office,
LLC, a law firm dedicated exclusively to family law matters. He has argued cases across the entire Tampa Bay Area and takes
family law appeals from anywhere in the state of Florida. He practices exclusively in the area of family law and has been
an invited speaker at the Stetson University School of Law in the area of Family Law.
